Pastor Reginald Woodhouse
Rev. Woodhouse was called into the Gospel Ministry December 1990 and ordained in July 1992. He received his public school education in the Chesapeake School System.
He is a graduate of Geneva College, Beaver Falls, in Pennsylvania, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Ministry Management.
He later attended Norfolk State University and received his Teaching Endorsement Certificate, whereupon he taught in the Newport News Public School System at Briarfield Elementary School for 2 1/2 years.
Realizing a need to better prepare himself for the "calling" upon his life in the ministry,
he pursued and received a Master of Theology Degree from Roanoke Theological Seminary of Elizabeth City, N.C. a division of the Historical Shaw University. Rev. Woodhouse has also done extended study at the following Institution of Higher learning -
Regent University School of Divinity in Virginia Beach - Trinity Theological Seminary Distant Education Program - Virginia Seminary and College, Lynchburg VA. Pastor Woodhouse is presently attending Providence Bible College & Seminary, Norfolk, VA where he is pursuing his Doctorate.
On the First Sunday in August 1999, he was called to
Pastor First Baptist Church Jefferson Park, in Newport News Virginia and he was officially installed the Fifth Sunday, October 1999.
Under Rev. Woodhouse's leadership, the First Baptist Church Jefferson Park has materialized many new ministries. Some of them being: A New Member Class, A Tutorial Program, A Partnership with Kid-Tech to form a technology lab, the First Baptist Praise Dancers,
Little Angels Choir, and many other ministries.
Rev. Woodhouse is very active in civic organizations and community affairs. His present memberships include: Peninsula Baptist Pastor's Council (Serves as President), Tidewater Peninsula Baptist Association (Serves as 2nd Vice-President), VA State Baptist Convention Executive Board (Serves as Statistician), Metro Baptist Ministers Conference, Office of Human Affairs Board of Directors (Previously served as Chairperson),
International Who's Who of Technology, International Who's Who of Professionals, 100 Black Men (Peninsula Chapter), Conference of Minority Public Administrator, People to People Advisory Board Member.
He is married to the former Sheila N. Smith, who is one of his greatest supporters and who is very involved, dedicated and actively participates in the ministry. He is the father of five children Tawanda, Cornell, Candice, Alysha, Reginald and the proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren. The First Baptist Church Jefferson Park honors its Pastor and believes that he is an anointed man of God.
