Pastor Browlee Hailstock Jr., D.Div
The Reverend Dr. Browlee Hailstock, Jr. is a native of Danville, Virginia, and he attended the public schools of Blair's, Virginia; where in 1960 he graduated from the Southside High School.
He arrived in the Tidewater area by way of Richmond, Virginia; where he resided with his wife and children, and for ten years served as the Pastor of the Providence Baptist Church, Ashland, Virginia.
He did his undergraduate work at the Virginia Union University, where he received his B.A. degree in sociology and his Master of Divinity degree from the School of Theology of Virginia Union University, in the area of Theology. In May of 1985, the Richmond Seminary conferred upon him the Honorary Doctor of Divinity degree.
He is a community activist and has served in the following positions, President of the Division of Clergy of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia (BGC), member of the General Board of the BGC, Vice President of the BGC, Trustee of Richmond Virginia Seminary, member of the General Board and Executive Board of the BGC, member of the Hampton City School Board, President of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Virginia Union University.
Dr. Hailstock is the Pastor of the Zion Baptist Church, Hampton, Virginia where he is in his 26th year as the leader of that congregation.
Dr. Hailstock is married to the former Florence Pauline Perkins.
